Summer in Greenland

Greenland is a truly beautiful place in the summer - a land of contrasts. Water melt from the ice provides a rich environment for a whole variety of vegetation to flourish. If you are lucky enough to visit when Greenlands national flower is in bloom it is an astonishing site. Chamerion latifolium, more commonly known as Dwarf fireweed floods the valleys with its bright pink violet colour, an impressive contrast to the dark rock and glaciers above.
